Barcelona-based Sheffield son Fitzroy North delivers us Animate, a 4-track EP of analogue-synth-inflected electro. Rather than simply revisit feel-good 1980s tropes, the four compact cuts explore the isolation, desperation and anxiety experienced by those living through that decade, especially in the U.K.

Recorded and produced in Barcelona on an array of hardware spanning 4 decades, Animate offers us an opportunity to hear a re-booted electro sound. Each track is informed by modern production techniques but retains a machine-funk based soul.
